Learning and Development Apprenticeship

What will I be doing?
The qualification will enable you to commence or continue your professional development as an L&D practitioner to develop and assess the skills, knowledge and competence of learners primarily in the workplace or work related programmes of learning.

Working in the following roles: in-house trainers and training managers, external trainers, managers and consultants, assessors and verifiers, you will develop practical skills and knowledge that will enable you to deliver informative and interactive learning activities and assess competence within the working environment.

Learners will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop knowledge and skills in delivering effective learning and development provision and/ or carrying out assessment and assessment- related quality assurance activities for an
    organisation.
  • Learn about developing and assessing the skills, knowledge and competence of learners primarily in the workplace or in work-related programmes of learning
  • Achieve a nationally-recognised Level 3 or 4 qualification
  • Develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning.

What qualifications will I get?

  • Pearson Level 3 Diploma in Learning and Development
  • Pearson Level 2 Certificate in Functional Skills English
  • Pearson Level 2 Certificate in Functional Skills Mathematics

What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal requirements to apply to do this apprenticeship. However, you will be required to deal with learners face-to-face, so good communication skills, respect, and a desire to help the learner get the best outcome are desirable.

What can I do afterwards?
Learners who achieve this qualification have a wide range of qualification progression opportunities. For example, the Level 3 or Level 4 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector. In turn this can lead to progression to the Pearson Edexcel Level 3 or Level 4 Certificate, or level 5 diploma, in the “Teaching in the Lifelong Learning” Sector.
